Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a “nose job,” is a cosmetic procedure that reshapes the nose to improve its size, shape, proportions, and overall balance with the rest of the face. Rhinoplasty can address concerns such as a bump on the bridge, a drooping or bulbous nasal tip, wide or large nostrils, nasal asymmetry, or a crooked nose. In some cases, functional concerns affecting nasal airflow may also be addressed as part of the procedure. Rhinoplasty is a highly personalized procedure designed to address the features of your nose that you would like to change while creating a result that complements your overall facial features. Good candidates should be in good overall health, have realistic expectations, and be considering surgery for their own personal goals.

If your primary concern is difficulty breathing rather than the appearance of your nose, we recommend seeing an ENT for evaluation. During your consultation, your plastic surgeon will evaluate your nose and discuss which changes may be appropriate based on your individual goals.
Following surgery, your nose will be placed in an external and/or internal splint and bandaged which will typically be removed within 7-14 days post-op. While you may feel comfortable enough to move around within 24 hours, patients typically require at least 1-2 week off from work or school as they heal. Patients should avoid any cardiovascular activity or heavy lifting (anything above 5lbs) for 4-6 weeks. It is important to understand that each patient is unique and your recovery time can depend on a variety of factors. Our team will be here to guide you with post-op instructions in order to ensure a healthy and safe recovery.
Depending on your goals, your surgeon may recommend an additional procedure as part of your rhinoplasty. These procedures can address specific concerns with the appearance of the nose or, in some cases, improve nasal airflow and function.
